CSR2 Boss Times: How to Beat Every Tier Boss and Win Their Car (2026)

CSR2 MODS Team · July 8, 2026

Every tier of CSR Racing 2 ends the same way: you climb the ladder, beat the crew leader, and then the boss offers you something no other race in the game does, a rematch with their own car on the line. Win it and one of the most distinctive cars in the tier joins your garage for free. Lose it, or skip it, and that car is gone. There is no second invitation. That one-shot pressure is why "CSR2 boss times" is one of the most searched questions in the game, so here is the full list of bosses, the times you need, and how to make sure the wager race never goes wrong.

How boss races actually work

Two races get mixed up constantly, so let's separate them. The first is the boss battle at the top of each tier's ladder, beat it and you progress through the story like any other race, and you can retry it if you lose. The second is the boss wager: after you dethrone them, the boss challenges you again with their personal car as the prize. This one is different. You get one chance. Fail the time and the story still continues, but the boss car is locked out of your account permanently. That's why smart players never tap into the wager the moment it appears, you prepare first, then race.

All five CSR2 bosses and the times to beat

These are the community-recorded target times for each boss car wager. Treat them as the bar you want to clear comfortably in practice, not scrape past once, since exact requirements can shift slightly between game versions.

The boss cars are worth winning, too. They come with unique liveries you cannot buy at the dealership, they are strong for their tier, and collecting all five is one of the classic milestones of the story. If you're wondering how a car's time stacks up against the very best, our free CSR2 world records sheet lists the fastest recorded time and tune for every car in the game.

How to prepare so you never lose a boss car

Almost every lost boss car comes down to the same mistake: taking the wager with a half-built car. Here's the checklist that removes the risk.

  • Finish Stage 5 across the board first. Every upgrade category matters, one lagging stage costs more time than you'd expect in a race this tight.
  • Fill your fusion slots. Empty slots are free time you're leaving on the table. If the right parts won't drop, our fusion parts and fusion plus Stage 6 packs exist for exactly this moment.
  • Beat the target consistently, not once. Run the tier's regular races until you're under the boss time on repeat. If your best run barely clears it, you're not ready, a single missed shift will cost you the car.
  • Get your launch and shifts clean. A perfect start and perfect shifts are worth several tenths. Our perfect shift and start guide covers the timing.
  • Tune for the distance. The right nitrous and final drive setup for the boss race is not always your live-race tune. The tuning guide explains the three sliders that matter.

After the story: the Tempest raises the bar

Beat Tyler Shax and CSR2 opens the Tempest, a second, harder ladder that runs back through the tiers with tougher opponents and its own cars on the line. Two things surprise players here. First, the times assume properly built cars, Stage 6 parts and full fusions, not story-mode builds. Second, each Tempest tier makes you commit one car to an Elite Licence, and that licensed car cannot race in the same tier's Tempest events, so you genuinely need two strong cars per tier. Choose the licence car badly and you've handicapped yourself, which is why we offer an Elite Licence replacement service to move it onto the right car.

The shortcut, if you'd rather just win

Everything above is doable the long way. It's also weeks of grinding per tier if the crate luck is against you. The faster route is the one our customers use: we deliver fully maxed cars with Stage 6, fusions and a proper tune already applied, or max out a car you already own, so the boss target becomes a formality instead of a gamble. Delivery is server-side to your own account, usually in about 20 minutes, and how it works is covered honestly in our complete CSR2 mods guide.

However you get there, don't rush the wager. The boss will wait, the car won't come back.

Frequently asked questions

What happens if I lose a boss car race in CSR2?

The boss wager is one-shot. If you lose or decline it, the story still continues and you can keep progressing, but that boss's car is permanently locked out of your account. There is no retry, which is why you should only take the wager once you're beating the target time consistently in practice.

What are the CSR2 boss times for each tier?

The community-recorded targets are roughly: Tier 1, KJ's Toyota 86 Rocket Bunny at 13.307s; Tier 2, Ashleigh's CLA 45 AMG at 12.015s; Tier 3, Kurtz's Mustang HPE750 at 10.588s; Tier 4, Victor's Jaguar F-Type Project 7 at 14.179s; Tier 5, Tyler Shax's Koenigsegg Agera R at 11.957s. Exact requirements can shift slightly between versions, so aim to beat them with margin.

Are CSR2 boss cars worth winning?

Yes. Each boss car has a unique livery you cannot buy at the dealership, performs well for its tier, and costs you nothing but the wager race. Collecting all five is one of the classic story milestones, and several remain fun cars for live races and events afterwards.

What is the Tempest in CSR2?

The Tempest is the harder ladder system that unlocks after you finish the main story. It runs back through the tiers with tougher targets that assume Stage 6 builds, and each tier requires you to lock one car to an Elite Licence, which that tier's Tempest races then can't use. That means you effectively need two strong cars per tier.

Can I get help beating a boss time?

Yes. We can deliver a fully maxed car for the tier, or max out a car you already own, with Stage 6 parts, fusions and tuning applied, so the boss target is comfortably within reach. Delivery is to your own account, usually in about 20 minutes.
